Africa Development MSc Scholarships in London 2016: The Centre of African Studies, CAS, is using this medium to invite all Africans who re interested to apply for 3 MSc scholarships, which is the continent’s part of the Governance for Development Initiative funded by the Mo Ibrahim Foundation.
It is worth known that the Africa master’s scholarships called for are available at the School of African and Oriental Studies, SOAS, in London and up to 3 MSc Scholarships will be awarded.
How to apply for Africa Development MSc Scholarships
For any applicant to be considered for funding in the Africa Development Master’s Scholarships , For applicants to be eligible for a scholarship, you need to accept the offer of a place before 31 May 2016 so please apply early.
Once the candidate is assured that admission place has been secured, he/she can then apply for the scholarship. All the applicants of the Africa Development scholarships will be assessed basically on student’s high school transcript and academic reference judged by SOAS panel of academic members.
The assessment of application will be based on the information which the applicant provided during the scholarship application process. Selectors will be looking at the following as their bases for application assessment:
- academic achievement and evidence of critical analytical capabilities
- supporting statement.
- evidence of interest in and knowledge of linkages between governance and development
All the successful candidates in the Africa development master’s scholarships will be informed by the end of June 2016. The decision of the Head of IFCELS Department on the awards will be final
NOTE: that CAS reserves the right not to award or withdraw scholarships and will only award them to any applicants who is believed to meet sufficiently high academic standards and with demonstrable interests in fields relevant to the objectives of the GDAI.
