Dave Umahi Retires All Permanent secretaries in Ebonyi

Dave Umahi Retires All Permanent secretaries: Ebonyi state Governor Umahi in a statement signed by the governor’s Principal Secretary, Chief Clement Nweke, has on Sunday ordered for immediate retirement of all permanent secretaries in the state’s civil service.
The statement made available to all Ebonyians only exempted the Clerk of the State House of Assembly, Mrs Rose Nwokporo from the retirement exercise. All the permanent secretaries who are affected by the retirement exercise are to make sure that they complete all handover in their individual ministries, boards and agencies before work closes on Monday, Nov. 16.

The state Governor charged “All the state commissioners, heads of parastatals and agencies in to ensure total compliance to this directive.

The Governor has also reacted to the rumor saying that the Government House in Abakaliki was gutted by fire on Friday, urging all the citizens of the state to disregard such report

“There was an electrical spark in the office of the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the Governor on Petroleum Products Pricing and Distribution, Mr Bassey Chima.

“No portion of the office was damaged as the SSA was attending the burial of former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) Sen. Pius Anyim’s mother-inlaw, when the incident occurred.

“When Chima was alerted of the incident, he ‘raced’ to Abakaliki and to God’s glory, staff of the government house had `doused’ the effect of the spark,” the statement read.

The citizens on reacting when it was publicly announced on the media that Dave Umahi Retires All Permanent secretaries in the state, some of them are on the opinion that yes they are all due to be retired saying that it is a welcome development as it will give other the chance to grow.
